Scandalous 4.0

Well Hi!  Welcome back to the Lightnings!  I know it was supposed to be a Zale update, but I was having too much fun.  I deviated from my normal play style for this post, and at the time, I was having so much fun, but then I started feeling guilty, and then I didn’t really care at all – so yeah, let’s just dive right in!

Lightning Check!
Here’s Noah looking mopey outside his house.

And Lightning check complete.  He’s the only one.  Weeeiirrd.

With his girlfriend still a teen, I decide to head over and meet the Sim I downloaded for him, created by our one and only Sammy – Author of the Bagrov and Miller-Yang legacies.  If you aren’t reading her stuff already, please do so.  You’ll enjoy it!

She got this adorable mission style home.  It is so cute!

Noah knocks on the door and she invites him in.

We found her reading.  Aw.

Here is her adorable face!

She is a super cool looking Sim!  Her name is Ratna Connor.

They make fast friends and cloud gaze on her porch.

Too cute.

Um, I think she is just amazing!

I send them out to the Rattlesnake Juice Bar, and they get their boogie on to the jukebox.

They share a bunch of friendly interactions, then I send Noah home.

We begin working on his painting aspiration.

I like to paint small, medium, then large in rotating order so I get to see all the paintings.

I also decide that with Noah’s penchant for food, he should take up jogging.

I think we’ve gone once, just sayin’.

He returns from his jog to see that Liv has stopped by!

They enjoyed a nice chat.  It was sweet.

Then Noah rolled a wish to rummage.  In the trash.  For food.

I got a little pop-up that he’d found a somewhat edible oatmeal.  DISGUSTING.  Good to know for a survival challenge though.  Glutton Sims can rummage for food in the bins.  *gag*

Hi Ratna!

I have him make up a garden salad for them for dinner to avoid another fire debacle.

They were just casually chatting when angry ghost mom makes an appearance.

I send Noah to intervene immediately.

If he can calm her down, she just might not break EVERYTHING.

Whoops…

Looks like I’ve been neglecting something.

I was just about to go work on it, but then Ratna invited him over!

Her house is really dark.

It was just a quick visit though, I don’t want the plants to die!

There, thank you, Noah.  They will still make you some money, especially since they’re such high quality!

Ha!  Check it out!

All those years tending the garden, Ghost Jimmy came to help out!  I didn’t know he could do that.

Hey!  It’s Noah’s girlfriend Kathy!  And she’s finally a young adult!

I wonder what she’s so sad about?

She didn’t stay long, but at least she was much happier when she left!

Noah does a little more painting.

He’s as terrible as you would expect.

I was just about to invite Kathy over to see if she wanted to get married and join the household…

…But Ratna stopped by all on her own… And well, well, well!  What do we have here!

Yup!  While waiting for his teenage girlfriend to age up, Noah went ahead and had a little too much fun with Ratna!

We ask her to move in, so we can take care of (And NAME) the baby!
She readily agrees.

Hey look!  Kathy is here!

And… um… Noah has been busy!

I think this is gonna be good!  Not 100% sure what’s gonna happen…

…but I am so entertained!  Noah asks Kathy to move in too.

I was really just greedy for both of their genetics… but I’m super excited to see what happens!

I love the look on Noah’s face as the two women sit together.  Happy as can be, by the way.

I heard a knock at the door, and I was like WHAT NOW!?!? (Like I didn’t already know what I had been up to…)

But it was just Liv.  Hi Liv!  Is it just me, or does she look like she’s a bit disapproving of Noah’s situation.

I decide not to control the two women at all (for the most part) and just see what happens.

I discover them chatting happily on the couch.  Obviously they aren’t discussing the father of their children.  I decide we will follow any whims Noah has for the women.  We’ll just have to see.  He rolls a “be friendly with Kathy” so they chat about dreams.  Exciting!

The two women are proving to be most helpful and drama free.

And about now I realize that Noah is a jackass.

Ratna goes into labor in the restroom after having a wee.

At least she won’t wet herself like Henrietta and die.

The first of Gen 5 is on the way!

I’m pretty excited!

It’s a girl!  Olive Lightning is born!

It’s another girl!  Olympia Lightning is born!  Good work Ratna!  I can’t wait to see them all grown up!

Ratna and Noah managed another TFB without Kathy noticing.

She’s in the kitchen getting something to eat.

Looking very pregnant indeed!

Then Kathy starts taking care of Ratna’s babies.

And just about now, I started feeling a little uncomfortable with what I had done.  But oh well.

Ratna does care about her own babies too!

At this point I love both women more than Noah.

Kathy is super big, and I feel like she’s been pregnant forever.

I hope it’s not another set o ftwins!

After the birth of Ratna’s children, a couple of people stop by.

This male in the back is Reginald, and the woman in front is Tabitha.  They are Kathy’s brother and mother.  I checked her family tree, to see who the father would be for these very different looking people, and none is listed.  Maybe Tabitha adopted?

Noah autonomously flirted with Kathy right in front of Ratna…

…at the dinner table… eating the meal Ratna prepared, but she didn’t mind at all.

Noah also tries his hand at parenting for the first time.

Then ghost dad also helps out.

It’s funny, maybe it’s the way they died, but when Henri comes around, she’s always furious and breaks things, but Jimmy is always helpful.

Ratna is expecting again!

(That’s her nausea face) and silly Kathy hasn’t even popped yet!

I truly love them both.

I thought there’d be more drama, but this is nice too.

Except it’s too nice.  And both the women are amazing… I thought someone would start being all nasty, and someone would be getting picked on… but NOPE!  They just get along and help and support each other.

Noah had a whim to “get to know” Ratna.  So he does.

While she’s peeing.  *Note I built this bathroom this way because that’s what space allowed, but it ended up being pretty great.  If a Sim walks in right now, no one gets the embarrassed moodlet, since you can’t actually see the weeing Sim.  It’s pretty great!  Of course Ratna and Noah don’t get the embarrassed moodlet because of their relationship…

Are you EVER going to have that baby!?

The O twins are already aging up!  Olympia rolls rambunctious scamp and the self assured trait.

She has Ratna’s nose.

Olive also gets rambunctious scamp, and the genius trait.

I put glasses on her genius self, and so I could easily tell them apart.  They’re adorable.

I’m happy I was a genetic hoarder and have both these lovely women in the house.

And they’re becoming good friends.

Noah sits down to have a bite to eat and the girls swarm him.

I’m sure they’d love to have some interaction with their father.

Is Kathy broken?  She’s been pregnant a very long time!

As soon as I snapped that picture, she finally went in to labor.

The world’s longest pregnancy.

It’s a boy!

Oh wait… That’s Ratna with her pregnant belly and undergarments.

Well, it was still a boy!  The “P” child is named Patrick!

And gross.

And put some clothes on.

Kathy is pregnant again too!

Oops… Roof begone!

The girls come home from school super tired.

Aw… little peanuts.

Henri meets the pregnant women at the midnight snack table.

I imagine her telling the women that she died immediately after Noah’s birth, therefore she is not to be held responsible for Noah’s terrible treatment of women.

Hey!  Patrick hopped out of the bassinet!

A redhead!  I think he looks a LOT like Kathy.  He’s also a rambunctious scamp, and adds the loner trait.

Ratna has gone into labor!

It’s another girl!

I name her Quinn and I love how dark her skin is!!!

Uh oh – it finally happened.

Too full pregnancies each, and they just realized that Noah is romantically involved with both of them.

Poor Ratna is the only one who’s sad!

That’s her crying under the covers.  No one else even cares!!!

Oh.  Now Kathy cares too.  Noah rolled (although they don’t “roll” in TS4, I can’t stop using the terminology) “Kiss Ratna” and “Embrace Kathy”.

This put them both in the same place at the same time, with romance in the air.

Poor little Kathy wanted to “Blog about her Feelings”

She just kept crying.  It was awful.

I was trying to repair one broken relationship…

…and I further damaged the other!

So now Kathy’s out here watering the plants wither her tears.

I’m not 100% sure what I thought would happen when I began this series of events… but I’m no longer happy with it.

I decide that these two lovely Sim Women are too cool, and too strong to put up with Noah’s crap.  It’s time to take action.

Ratna is not pregnant – so she’s LEAVING.

She throws a drink at Noah…

…and I move her into the Lightning Spares household.

NOTE:  I hate that I have these women leaving their children behind.  But for the sake of the legacy, I need them to remain in the household.  But the women have had enough.  Besides, Noah’s not a BAD man… he just loves two beautiful women and makes babies with them.

After Ratna has departed, Kathy goes into labor!

It’s another girl!

I name her Rachael.

Kathy – having actually been Noah’s girlfriend, breaks up with him.

Aw Noah!  Don’t be so sad!

It’s your own fault!

And with that, Kathy also moves out with Ratna and the spares.

Maybe now, the he’s grown up a bit (BIRTHDAY!)

Noah can start making better choices for his family.

I was two seconds away from save and quit, when Quinn hopped out of her bassinet.

She adds Social Butterfly and the bookworm trait!  She’s cute as can be.

So!  That’s it for this round.  I think I might actually poll the heirs, since there’s two different mommas.  We’ll see.  I never really know what I’m going to do until it happens.

I hope you didn’t hate this little turn of events!  I was mostly greedy for both Kathy and Ratna’s genetics… but then I hated what happened to them… (you’d THINK I would’ve foreseen that… but no.  No I didn’t.)

I’m out of town all weekend (husband’s birthday at the beach!) but I promise next time I post an update, it’ll be those Zales.

Movin’ on Up 3.5

Hey Hey Kids!  Lookie here, a Lightning update!  Who’d’ve thunk it?  I can tell you right now, I feel like this post is going to be very long… At least, it took me AGES to play!  Quick recap – last time, Henrietta popped out more babies, and then died of humiliation.  Our heir was discovered, and Noah will be taking over eventually!  Let’s get to it, shall we?

Lightning Check!  Here’s Jimmy and Liv, just hangin’ out.

Everyone misses Henrietta.  I kind of do too.

She kept whimpering in her sleep… it was really sad.

The future of the Lightnings!

With all the kids off at school, it’s up to Jimmy to work in the garden and tend to his last born son.
It’s pretty cute, if you ignore the fingers through the baby’s skull.

I couldn’t find Liv for a bit, and I discovered that she had found her mother’s grave.

Super sad.

I thought I outsmarted them, and built this little area…

Which I thought was quite lovely, but they still found a way mourn her.  Dang.

So I did this…

But they don’t mind the fact that they can’t even SEE her tombstone, and mourn her through the hedge.  Sammy – I’m sorry I laughed at Oliver mourning all the time.  It isn’t funny at all, it’s wretchedly annoying… LOL

So far more time than you can imagine, and more money than I wanted to spend later, I built this mausoleum.

Or mausoleum type thing.  THERE JIMMY.  TRY TO CRY ABOUT YOUR DEAD WIFE NOW.
Note:  He still tries, they all do… but it falls out of their queues because they can’t reach her.  FINE WITH ME.

I’ve also scaled the plants down by about half.

It was just way too much!  Back when I had three teenagers and two adults, I could put them all to task and more than 9 hours later, they’d all still be working.  It was never “finished” and there was always something that needed to be done.  But it did earn them a huge amount of money for them – so the incredibly hard work was definitely worth it!

Lightning children are studious children.

Especially now that I don’t need them all farming all the time.

I realized a couple of them needn’t have bothered with their homework.  We have a couple birthday’s coming.

Of course Jimmy broke the fridge while making the cake.

Whoops, I was distracted by cake making and broken fridges, and this guy jumped out of his basket.

I tried to look for food related clothes, but there wasn’t really any.  He’s adorable and I’m quite happy he’ll be heir!  I think he also managed to look a little bit different than his many siblings.

Her candles were actually LIT before she blew them out.

She adds Bro to creative and evil.

Ha, that face… she’s pretty cool.

I have Lars risk his life repairing the fridge.

No dying please!  (he didn’t!)

I was going to keep Liv and Lars around in case Jimmy went and died, leaving only children/teens in the house, but Casey will age up before too long, so I’ve moved out Liv & Lars!

Here’s our little heir throwing a fit because of an “aggravating conversation”

I like how he chose to shove the toy through his chin.

He rolled a wish to be mean to someone, but I don’t want that!

So I have him take out his emotions on Blarffy.  It granted the wish, so that’s good!

Henri came to visit!  She does NOT look happy.

She broke like, everything they owned – it was AWFUL.

Then she took up residence in the bathroom and just went potty over and over and over and over and over again.

I think she’s making up for wetting herself, and dying because of it.  And look, it’s Mimi in case you forgot she existed.  I kinda did.

Jimmy tries to calm her down.

I found all of it strangely sad.  😦

Casey aged up!  She adds cheerful to music lover and mean.

But she’s very sad because I forgot her birthday.  Well of COURSE I forgot it!  She was born when I wasn’t watching, I don’t even know when her birthday is!  SO THAT’S MY EXCUSE.

Having toned down the farming operation some, Jimmy and Casey are staying on top of things pretty well.

It’s still a lot of work though!

Alas!  I got a pop-up that Jimmy’s at the end of his days!

This is Noah.

The sad little glutton who is eating his feelings.  I am CONSTANTLY asking him to put down the cake.  I’m interested to see what is in his future!

Speaking of the future, it’s time for Mimi to grow up!

No one really cared, but here she goes!

She gets the serial romantic aspiration along with alluring and perfectionist.

I like the quirky look she gave herself, but I’m going to make her over to be a little more flirty.

…and finally with your wife, who was taken too young.

The children were all sleeping, preventing them from witnessing the death and getting too sad.  So that’s kinda nice.

But life goes on…

Just another day as a Lightning.

Casey has been trying very hard to keep up the garden, but without Jimmy it’s nearly impossible.

And to be honest, I’m pretty darn sick of it.

With such short lifespans, there’s another birthday looming!

And it’s NOT Mimi’s, she just made the cake!

Noah here tastes the frosting.

It’s the first time I’ve tried that interaction.  It’s not as cute as I thought it would be.

Then he makes a wish!

That face!  Ha ha ha ha ha.

He rolls outdoor enthusiast and adds collector and snob!

And he seriously needs  a makeover. T hat does not look like an outdoor loving snob.

*Note: As I’m writing this up, I notice that both Casey and Mimi have gained quite a bit of weight by the end of this post…  They both look rather thin in these pictures (Mimi when she baked the cake, Casey just above) but – well, you see if you notice it too.

OMG.  I’m SO BORED with the garden.

All I do is meet their needs then send them out to take care of the plants.

Noah’s social is low, and I know I nabbed a Sim from Sammy (who I just love) but I need to do something else – so let’s go girlfriend hunting!

Yes, those are two of the same Sim.  I had so many aging problems (because I’m an idiot and can’t read), I had to make copies of Sims who had aged without my permission so I could age them down.  They’re not both in the town, but having played the household, they tend to populate at community locations.  That was her YA outfit, and it looks ridiculous on an elder.

The cute teen is Kathy Kincaid.  I took her into CAS to get a good look at her.

She’s adorable.

She just might have to be Noah’s betrothed.

Cuz seriously.  ❤

So this is weird…

Anyhoo, back to Noah.

Who’s this cutie!  She’s also a teen.

I have Noah introduce himself.

She’s giving him a little bit of the crazy eye, but I still like her!

Kathy likes to play hard to get…

He just went for an “embrace” and got shut down.  Their relationship is rather high at this point, so it surprised me!

Her name is Ainsley!

And she doesn’t reject our Noah!  I love that smile!

Eventually he’s too tired, hungry and full-bladdered to hang out any more, so he heads home to meet his needs.

And fix the TV he broke.  Thankfully he didn’t die.

Mimi makes another cake!

But this time, it’s for her own birthday!

She adds cheerful to her traits.

And she’s very beautiful.  As soon as Noah ages up, I’ll move Casey and Mimi out together.

What the heck?  She came in and turned on the stove.

Weirdo.

She always looks so bored.

But they’re both snobs, so that might be part of it.

But even if she’s not going to be “the one”…

… we can still have some fun!

And they even have a little sleepover.

They were holding hands for the slightest fraction of a moment, and I missed it.  Shoot.

Ghost mom looks surprised to find a girl had slept over!

But Kathy takes it in stride.

Dude!  Mimi is actually using the grill all on her own!

I liked this little space I built, and no one uses it.  Except for now!

Okay, I waited until almost everything was ready to harvest one more time, and now I’m going to collect it all, and sell all but one of each plant.

I’m so over it!

Mimi helps so we can get rid of all this hard work.

Just in time for the new generation, the farm has been reduced to something far more manageable!

It’s so nice!

Three more days until Noah’s YA birthday, but I got impatient and rebuilt the entire home!

It’s nothing too special, but I like the way it turned out!

It’s four bedrooms, three furnished, two bathrooms, and an open living area floor plan.

I think it turned out rather nicely!  And the farming definitely paid off, even if it was an insane amount of work.  After completing the build and most of the furnishing, the Lightnings have just under $20k left in the bank.  Not bad!

Definitely nice to see them in a new house.

The walls are a little bare, but it’ll do!

Casey here is making her own birthday cake.

I kept her around, knowing that Jimmy was going to die, and she’s already aging into full on adulthood.

Nice to finally have a little more space!

The simple household of just the three siblings is so nice.

After all the chaos of their childhood, I bet they enjoy it too!

Then I changed Noah’s aspiration, his was plant and outdoor based, and as I’ve mentioned, I’m completely over that right now, and I decide to make it the painting one.  Since I haven’t done anything with that yet!

Kathy doesn’t look that impressed with my building abilities.

Noah is happy to see her…

You know, I’m strangely drawn to her.  She’s a total snot, but I love her hair and face.  She might have to be the wife, and I can save my downloaded Sim for someone else.

I also like her little ever so slightly round tummy.  And her nose.

Noah makes Kathy his girlfriend.

They were both delighted, but Noah managed to DERP a bit.

Then he sets himself on fire making scrambled eggs.

Like actually, fully on fire.

And it’s my first ever TS4 fire, and I’m terrified.  So I make him run to the shower to extinguish himself.

And he left a blazing trail of smoke and flames….

But he was alright in the end!
Which is more than I can say for our fridge and stove.

And then the birthday we’ve been waiting for finally arrives!

I’m a little worried about him being that close to more fire – but hey.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

HA HA HA HA HA H AH AHAHAHAHAHHAHAH!  Nice face, kid.  He rolls the cheerful trait.
